Clinical Research Fellow Respiratory Medicine

Your Role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital

We are searching for a versatile and innovative Clinical Research Fellow to join the Research team.  You will be a medical doctor able to provide a high level clinical and research service for a 12-month period from February 2026. As a mixed clinical and research position, this is a unique opportunity to receive high quality training from some of Perth's leading specialists in respiratory and oncology research while providing clinical support to the junior doctor cohort.

The Position

• Participate in the development and conduct of clinical research in respiratory medicine / respiratory oncology

• Participate in the conduct of clinical trials as a sub-investigator or co-investigator (as appropriate), and to liaise with the principal investigator when required.

• Involvement in the multidisciplinary management of patients, including consultation requests for Allied Health and other medical specialties and nurse case managers.

• Contribute to all aspects of clinical care of patients who are admitted to hospital; commit to a team approach in the delivery of care, working closely with nursing staff, allied health professionals, members of pastoral care services, and other clinicians both onsite and offsite.

• Participate in MER calls.

• Provide clinical supervision and teaching as required, and assist in the professional development of junior medical doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team

• Participate in peer review and quality improvement initiatives

You will have General Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with at least three years post graduate experience.

You will have a proven interest in clinical research and a desire to improve your research skills with strong planning and communication skills
