About the Medical Oncology Clinical Trials Unit (MOCTU)
MOCTU conducts clinical trials in solid tumour cancers, including breast, brain and ovarian cancer, providing patients with early access to novel treatments. These trials are essential for developing new standards of care and improving patient outcomes.
About the Role
We are seeking a Research Program Manager to oversee the MOCTU research program under the leadership of the Clinical Research Director – Medical Oncology. This pivotal role involves strategic planning, operational oversight, financial management, and staff leadership, while maintaining compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute project plans for research programs and manage the clinical trial pipeline.
- Oversee study budgets, financial milestones, invoices and payments.
- Supervise and mentor a team of up to 12 staff.
- Ensure compliance with ICH GCP, TGA guidelines and NHMRC standards.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including sponsors and funding bodies.
- Prepare reports, grant applications, and business proposals.
- Support fundraising strategies in collaboration with Epworth Medical Foundation.
About You
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in science, healthcare or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical trials and research project management.
- Knowledge of research ethics, governance and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in project management and financial oversight.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications.
- Experience in medical oncology or solid tumour clinical trials.
