The UX Research team sits with the Design team which partners with Product and Engineering teams across the business. Our world-class Design team is driven by innovation and creativity, constantly pushing the boundaries to create products that our consumers and customers love. We strive to provide Australians with the knowledge and confidence they need to make informed property decisions.

What the role is all about
- The UX Research Manager leads research programs that explore the attitudes, behaviours and motivations of our users (consumers and customers) to make our services and products meaningful, engaging and relevant to their everyday life. Not only do they develop research plans, projects, facilitate research, and communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders, but they also advocate for the voice of the user, while mentoring and coaching researchers, designers, and stakeholders in research process and techniques ensuring quality and rigour.
- The UX Research Manager role is suited for a highly skilled UX Research practitioner and/or Design leader with extensive passion and experience in UX research activities.
- The UX Research Manager supports the REA Group in the following ways:
- Lead UX Research team and oversee UX research activities, ensuring the defined objectives are achieved with the final deliverables and recommendations-
- Lead research strategies to plans, formulate and undertake UX research to discover problems, define solutions and validate concepts with our targeted users-
- Provide leadership, mentor, train and coach UX researchers, product designers & product managers on the design and execution of research activities and deliverables as well as how to leverage insights to better inform their decisions-
- Build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally with other insights functions like Marketing, Market Research, Data Science etc. to contribute to a shared body of knowledge-
- Lead ResearchOps activities to enable world-class research quality and impact across the organisation. This includes managing UX research budget in their areas, ensuring teams have easy and seamless access to research participants, and access to insights tools to make better product and design decisions-
- Great at “connecting the dots” - to help shape how product teams think about medium and long-term product strategy and designs for improving existing products and defining new products- Who we’re looking for- Experience in leading research teams and mentoring or guiding researchers-
- Experience in UX Research (with expertise in a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research methods) and integrating user research into product designs and design practicesAbility to identify user needs and to spot behavioural patterns, themes, insights and opportunities based on user research-
- Can synthesise and generate insights from multiple sources and clearly communicate actionable insights and recommendations, through the development of different design artefacts.-
- Experience managing online community panels-
- Excellent communicator, presenter and influencer —in-person and in writing-
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment-
- Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct research in close collaboration with people in a variety of roles, including design, engineering, and product management-
- Have a growth mindset to take on and give clear and constructive feedback-
