The Opportunity
We are seeking a
motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our Strep A & ARF
Therapeutics Team. In this role, you will play an important part in supporting
the delivery of the SCIP Syphilis project, working closely with the Team Lead, Program
Manager and Indigenous co-lead. Your responsibilities will span research
coordination, protocol and ethics preparation, community engagement, and
administrative support across the broader program.
Your duties will
include, but not be limited to:
- Develop and maintain the project's REDCap database and assist with research documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of study protocols, ethics submissions and project materials in line with GCP guidelines.
- Support culturally secure, co-designed community engagement activities across WA (including occasional remote travel).
- Contribute to grant reporting and publications.
- Assist with project administration such as meeting coordination, procurement, reporting and stakeholder communication.
- Provide support to additional Strep A & ARF Therapeutics research projects as required.
Based at our
Nedlands Office, this is a 12-month contract on a full-time basis (0.8 FTE will
be considered for the right candidate).

To be successful in
the role, you will bring the following:
- An undergraduate degree in science, health or a related field.
- Experience using REDCap and confidence working with research documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultures, and the ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and culturally diverse peoples.
Desirable:
- Experience with qualitative research methods.
- Experience in scientific writing.
