About Us:

Lendo Capital is a new and dynamic non-bank lender, specialising in commercial real estate loans. As a growing startup, we are building our financial operations from the ground up and are looking for an experienced professional to guide us in establishing robust and compliant trust accounting practices.

The Role:

This is a unique, high-impact role for a seasoned finance expert. Your primary mission will be to establish, oversee, and advise on our trust accounting framework, rather than performing daily data entry. You will be the trusted expert ensuring our financial operations are set up correctly, efficiently, and in full compliance from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Setup & Strategy: Advise on and help implement the optimal trust account structure and accounting software for our business model.
  • Process Design: Develop and document clear, scalable procedures for loan settlements, trust fund transfers, and weekly/monthly reconciliations.
  • Oversight & Compliance: Conduct weekly reviews of trust transactions and perform reconciliations. Ensure all practices adhere to Australian ASIC regulations and trust accounting standards.
  • Management Reporting: Prepare concise financial reports for management, providing clarity on trust position and cash flow.
  • Strategic Guidance: Act as a key advisor to the leadership team on all matters relating to trust accounting, risk management, and financial controls.

About You:

  • You are a seasoned professional with 5+ years of experience, having hands-on experience in setting up or managing trust accounts within a lending, legal, or property firm.
  • You have deep knowledge of ASIC compliance and a practical understanding of how to apply the rules in a startup environment.
  • You are a proactive problem-solver who can work autonomously, identify potential issues before they arise, and provide clear, actionable advice.
  • You understand that our transaction volume is initially low, but you take pride in building systems that are accurate, compliant, and scalable for future growth.
  • Proficiency in accounting software is essential.
