Birdwood Pumps and Irrigation is a small family business operating in the Adelaide Hills and servicing surrounding areas including the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Peninsula. We supply, install, maintain and repair bore pumps, domestic pumps, solar pumps, in addition to some irrigation work.

We are looking for a full-time worker with some overtime opportunities available, to work onsite at our workshop in Gumeracha in addition to regular travel in surrounding areas to support experienced pump technicians.

Interest in pumps and irrigation and handy with tools and mechanics is beneficial; however onsite training is provided, no experience necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with servicing, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, repair and install of bore pumps, solar pump systems, domestic pumps.

  • Maintain a clean, tidy, safe workspace both in the workshop and on site.

-Connecting and testing of pump equipment.

  • Complete groundwork to prepare for irrigation and pump pipework, e.g. trenching and digging.

  • General maintenance at workshop.

  • Collection of parts from freight carriers or suppliers, locally and in Adelaide.

Criteria:

  • Full working rights in Australia

-Able to work independently and part of a team

-Able to work unsupervised at times, with limited direction, shows initiative.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem- solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and sound organisational skills.

  • Physically fit.

  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, safe operations of machinery such as forklift and excavator.

  • Valid drivers licence.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Interest in mechanical equipment.
