This is an exciting permanent opportunity to join a team responsible for one of the largest and most diverse legislative portfolios in Queensland Government. As a Principal Policy Officer, you will have the opportunity to lead and support legislative reforms on primary and subordinate laws across a wide variety of health-related areas. • Prepare high quality and timely briefing notes, ministerial communications, reports, submissions and correspondence about legislative projects and issues.


• Undertake legislative policy reviews, analyse and report on submissions, and develop briefing and issues papers requiring a high degree of research and technical expertise.


• Consult with policy and subject-matter experts throughout Queensland Health, and with external stakeholders where appropriate, to analyse legislative issues, develop and refine legislative proposals, and present proposals and options to senior decision-makers.


• Provide support and advice to policy areas within Queensland Health on processes and procedures for developing and amending legislation.
