The Opportunity

As we scale our Product & Engineering organisation and expand our Sydney hub, we're looking for an experienced Tech Lead to shape, build, and guide one of our cross-functional squads across AI, Legal, Marketing, and Business Development.

As a Tech Lead, you'll sit at the intersection of hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and product delivery. You'll still write code and ship features, but you'll also bring clarity, direction, and strong technical judgment to your squad. You'll influence architecture, mentor engineers, elevate engineering standards, and partner closely with Product to deliver meaningful, customer-focused outcomes. 

This role is ideal for someone who loves building, coaching, decision-making, and being deeply embedded in how ideas become products. We're looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced SaaS environment where ownership, autonomy, and collaboration matter. 

This role is open to candidates based in Sydney, as we're building greater team density around our primary engineering hub. 


Requirements

Must haves: 

  • Proven experience as a Senior Engineer or Tech Lead within a high-growth SaaS or technology company
  • Strongexpertisein at least one major part of our stack (React/TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, Python)
  • Ability to balance hands-on coding with technical leadership and mentoring
  • A track recordof strong architectural decision-making and navigating technical trade-offs
  • Experience working in cross-functional squads alongside Product Managers and Designers
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and inspire engineers, raise engineering quality, and build healthy team dynamics
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment with high ownership

Nice to haves: 

  • Experience building or scaling multi-tenant SaaS applications
  • Exposure to AI/LLM-powered product development
  • Experience working in a modern squad model or product-ledorganisation
  • Familiarity withGraphQL,WebSockets,Protobuf, or real-time systems
  • Experience influencing engineering culture and helping shape engineering rituals
  • Background in LegalTech, Martech, CRM platforms, or workflow automation products
