Role Purpose

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding Owen International's market presence, developing new business opportunities, and strengthening client relationships. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth and aligning strategic goals with customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Defence, government, and industrial sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Lead client engagement activities, including delivery of presentations and proposals.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform business strategy.
  • Perform scope definition and pricing activities for customer quotations and proposals.
  • Maintain company opportunity and sales pipeline as an input to forecast reports.
  • Assist in commercial negotiations to ensure company objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, engineering support, and senior management to align offerings with market needs.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to gather market intelligence and represent Owen International.

Skills, Qualifications and Eligibility

  • Must be an Australian citizen and eligible for an AGSVA Security Clearance
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, preferably in Defence or government sectors.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities.
