South Coast Baptist College is seeking an experienced and passionate Christian leader to join our team as the Director of Bible Christian Studies. This pivotal role involves shaping and delivering our Bible Christian Studies curriculum, guiding the spiritual development of our students, and fostering a Christ-centered learning environment across the College.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Bible Christian Studies curriculum across all year levels.
- Provide spiritual leadership within the College, organizing worship services and other spiritual activities.
- Teach Bible Christian Studies classes, modeling effective teaching practices.
- Mentor and support teachers in delivering Bible Christian Studies, offering professional development and resources.
- Ensure the integration of Christian values across the College's curriculum and co-curricular activities.
- Engage with parents, churches, and the wider community to support students' spiritual growth.
- Organize events that promote Christian fellowship and service.
Selection Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in theology, Christian education, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in teaching Bible Christian Studies or a similar subject within a school context.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and spiritual leadership.
- A mature and active Christian faith with a strong commitment to the mission and values of South Coast Baptist College.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
Desirable:
- Experience leading spiritual events such as worship services, retreats, and mission trips.
- Background in pastoral care or chaplaincy within a school or church setting.
- Familiarity with the ethos and values of Baptist education.
Essential Criteria:
- To have a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- To actively be a part of a Church or Christian community and exemplify Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
- To accept the College's Statement of Faith.
- Build co-operative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students and parents.
- Work to ensure personal best practice.
- Ensure that decision making is based on fact and is impartial and fair.
- Model the use of appropriate and proper channels of communication.
- Always act in the best interest of the College and its ethos.
- Adhering to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
- First Aid certificate.
- Working With Children Card.
