About The Role
As the Director Industrial Relations you lead a team of Industrial Relations Advisors supporting workforce practices that ensure compliance with relevant workplace laws and industrial instruments.
You will lead the negotiation of the Department's industrial Agreements, represent the Department at the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission (WAIRC) and manage the Department's industrial disputes.
You will need to be an excellent communicator, representing the Department of Justice, Deputy Director General Corporate Services, and Executive Director Workforce Services in industrial relations matters of a complex and sensitive nature.
You will also need to be comfortable leading contentious workforce issues through to resolution.
Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

- Substantial experience in leading and managing a team delivering high-level industrial relations advice, consultancy and advocacy services in a large and complex organisation and a practical knowledge of public sector processes and accountabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and driving opportunities for workforce reform.
