We are dedicated to the safety, progression, technique, and enjoyment of each child who comes through our doors. At Dive In, we're more than just a swim school. We love watching our swimmers grow and achieve skills they never thought possible.

Our values guide everything we do:

  • Safety First – a commitment to a safe environment for all.
  • Integrity & Respect – building trust through honesty and dignity.
  • Team Collaboration & Personal Accountability – working together to achieve success.
  • Customer-Centric Focus – families are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Continuous Learning – every day is an opportunity to improve.

We look for these same values in every team member who joins us.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Pool Deck Assistant to join our friendly team.

As a Pool Deck Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our swimmers and families feel supported and safe on pool deck. You will support instructors from the poolside by helping with class organisation, recording attendance and skills, ensure equipment is ready and in good working condition, and keep the pool deck running smoothly so our teachers can focus on delivering high-quality lessons.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where no two days are the same, and your contribution will make a real difference to the experience of our families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome families with warmth and professionalism.
  • Record children's attendance accurately and update live skill assessments using our app, supporting Swim Teachers with grading and swimmer development.
  • Work alongside the pool deck team to ensure lessons run smoothly and every family feels supported.

  • Set up and pack away lesson equipment as required by instructors

  • Keep the pool deck clean, organised, and safe, including chairs, tables, and other equipment
  • Carry out general cleaning duties, including wiping down tables, tidying bathrooms, and ensuring common areas are presentable.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe environment for swimmers
  • Assist with equipment (e.g. goggles, kickboards, floats).
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist families wherever needed.
  • Undertake other duties during peak periods to support the smooth running of the centre.

About You

We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and friendly team player who can commit to at least three shifts per week from the following:

  • Monday 3:30pm – 6:45pm
  • Wednesday 3:30pm – 6:45pm
  • Sunday 7.45am-11.30am

You'll also have:

  • Minimum age of 17 years.
  • A motivated team player who enjoys supporting colleagues and working collaboratively on pool deck
  • Previous customer service experience (preferred, but not essential).
  • Experience in swimming or aquatics (desirable, but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative to complete tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a passion for helping families.
  • Current Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain).
  • Availability to work afternoons and weekends (essential).

What We Offer

  • A supportive and welcoming team environment.
  • Opportunities for growth and development within the role
  • The chance to be part of a team that makes a real impact on children's lives.

How to Apply

If you are a reliable, energetic individual with a passion for customer service and supporting children's development, we'd love to hear from you

Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter that shares which of Dive In Swimming Academy's values you connect with most, and why you would love to be part of this role.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
