With one of the largest listed defence company market capitalisations in Australia, part of the ASX200 index, and having raised approximately $250m in 2024 alone, DroneShield is undergoing hypergrowth stage, fuelled by rapidly increasing use of drones for nefarious applications, from battlefield, to terrorism, to contraband delivery and commercial espionage.
This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Sydney CBD. There are approximately 380 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 500 staff by end of 2026. Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Netherlands, Denmark, Mexico and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.

The
Internal Policy Manager*
is responsible for developing, maintaining, and governing the organisation's internal policy framework. This role ensures that all policies and procedures are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with business operations and strategic objectives.
The position requires strong collaboration with business units to ensure policies reflect operational practices and support organisational consistency and efficiency.
*Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations*
- Develop, implement, and maintain a
*centralised policy management framework*
covering all internal policies, procedures, and standards. - Oversee the
*full lifecycle of policies*
: drafting, review, approval, publication, communication, and retirement of obsolete policies. - Maintain a
*policy register*
ensuring version control, accessibility, and adherence to internal governance standards. - Collaborate with business units to
*identify policy needs*
and ensure policies accurately reflect operational practices. - Draft and update policies to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with organisational objectives.
- Conduct
*regular policy reviews*
to ensure relevance and accuracy in line with evolving business processes. - Work with internal teams to
*identify operational requirements*
and ensure they are reflected in policies. - Ensure policies support internal compliance obligations, quality standards, and organisational frameworks.
- Support internal audits and reviews by providing evidence of policy governance processes.
- Track policy compliance and report on
*policy adherence metrics*
to senior management. - Identify gaps or risks in policy coverage and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare
*regular reports*
on policy governance activities, including upcoming reviews and compliance status.
*Qualifications, Experience and Skills*
- Degree in Law, Business Administration, Risk or Compliance
- Strong understanding of
*policy governance and internal control frameworks*
. - Excellent
*written communication skills*
