Security Manager

We are looking for a
Security Manager
to lead and manage comprehensive security operations across Victorian Convention and Events Trust venues, ensuring the highest standards of security performance and risk mitigation. This position will play an important role in providing strategic oversight of security planning, contract management, and operational delivery while fostering a culture of safety and security excellence throughout the organisation.

Additionally, you will develop, implement and maintain enterprise-wide security frameworks, policies, and procedures. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide your subject matter expertise in the areas of security and event security management, contract management and governance.

About the Role

• Provide comprehensive security management across all VCET venues, coordinating security operations
• Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments, mitigation planning and security planning for major events including threat assessment and risk analysis
• Provide security expertise to event organisers in planning and operational delivery of events
• Coordinate emergency response activities and incident management
• Lead procurement processes for security services in accordance with state procurement guidelines
• Establish incident reporting and analysis processes
• Coordinate emergency drills, evacuation exercises and the ongoing development of emergency response procedures
• Lead complex internal investigations and coordinate with external agencies as required
• Develop and maintain comprehensive security policies, procedures and standards

About you

• Significant experience in security management, in a busy, multi-purpose venue or a similar hospitality industry
• Previous experience in leading security planning and execution for major events, including threat assessment and risk analysis
• Experience in strategically identifying the need for change, and managing operational change
• Previous experience in managing contracts, contract variations, renewals and tender processes
• Ability to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards
• Sound conceptual and analytical skills
• Successful completion of investigation training
• Advanced Diploma in Security Risk Management, Public Safety or equivalent
