About the Role
This role provides high-level professional assistance to both internal and external stakeholders in relation to councillor community engagement. This includes the delivery of engagement activities that foster meaningful connections between councillors and the community. The role is responsible for actioning requests from councillors for advice and operational support, facilitating effective communication between councillors and the organisation to ensure service-related matters are addressed promptly. It also encompasses providing comprehensive administrative support to enable councillors to perform their elected duties efficiently and with discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to governance protocols.
About You
The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate IV in Business or possess equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years in a similar position, preferably within customer service or community engagement. They will bring qualifications or practical experience in public consultation, such as IAP2 membership or certification, and be confident in managing social media activities. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder consultation, including group facilitation, is essential. The candidate will exhibit strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively. They will be capable of basic graphic design and familiar with the Adobe suite, and possess excellent planning and organisational abilities to manage tasks independently and within a team. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering best practice outcomes for council and community are key attributes. Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate sound analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities, supported by advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
