About the Role
As the Draftsperson at Southern Cross Water, you will be responsible for producing high-quality concept, workshop, and structural detail drawings across a diverse range of projects including civil, rural, commercial, and domestic works. Working closely with management and various departments, you will ensure all drawings meet regulatory standards, are delivered on time, and are free from errors that could lead to rework.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Produce concept, workshop, and structural detail drawings in line with project requirements
- Ensure drawings meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and are delivered on time
- Maintain accurate project documentation and drawing databases
- Coordinate project documentation across departments and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Demonstrate proficient use of AutoCAD and adhere to company drafting standards
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to management
Support continuous improvement initiatives and proactively seek ways to enhance project performance
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Qualifications in drafting, design, or a related technical field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks software
- Attention to detail with effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering documentation accurately
- Understanding of technical drawing standards
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors (especially water storage design)
Ability to maintain project records and coordinate documentation across departments
