About the Role

This role will require you to work closely with the clinic's private specialist, together with the nursing, science and clinical teams, as well as liaising with our visiting doctors within a Private Day Hospital setting.

This role is a 12-month maternity leave cover.

  • Front Desk reception - greeting patients and visitors
  • Answering phones and taking patient enquiries
  • Supporting specialists in the consulting rooms
  • Preparing patient admission paperwork
  • Managing theatre lists and bookings within the day surgery computer program
  • Liaising with anaesthetists and surgeons regarding theatre lists
  • Checking patient private health insurance and Medicare eligibility
  • Experience in medical billing and claims
  • Admitting patients and taking payments for day surgery
  • Patient related data entry and filing
  • Other duties as directed by Director of Nursing and senior office staff
Essential for the Role
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Medical Administration (Private Specialist clinic experience)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional telephone manner
  • Good customer focus and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent computer knowledge, accurate keyboard skills, Microsoft and medical software programs
  • Awareness of confidentiality, sensitivity and discretion
  • A positive "can do attitude" and ability to work as a productive team member
  • Available for shifts Monday to Wednesday (can cover holiday leave) 8am-5pm
