About the role:
We're looking for a strategic and community-minded Economic Development Lead to drive place-based economic growth across the Campbelltown LGA. Our work spans placemaking, precinct activation, economic development, community outcomes and social planning, with influence across planning, infrastructure, events and policy. We are here to connect people to place, unlock local potential and make sure every initiative reflects the values and voices of Campbelltown.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the delivery of Council's Economic Development Strategy and related programs
- Designing and delivering business engagement, capability-building and workforce development initiatives
- Providing expert advice on economic trends, planning proposals and development applications
- Building strong partnerships with local chambers, industry, education and government stakeholders
- Driving precinct activation and place-based economic outcomes
- Representing Council in regional forums and cross-sector collaborations
- Supporting the Social Outcomes and Place team with economic insights and strategic input
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, planning, business, public policy or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in economic development strategy, business engagement and workforce planning
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working with chambers of commerce, business networks and government agencies
- A proactive, collaborative and values-driven approach to leadership
- Familiarity with economic data tools (e.g. PowerBI, GIS, CRM systems)
- A current Class C driver's licence and ability to attend external meetings across the LGA
As a member of our friendly and passionate team, you'll receive:
- Permanent full-time position with flexible work arrangements
- Salary from $122,217.28 to $132,292.32 per annum + 12% superannuation
- Opportunities for professional development and career progression
- A collaborative, purpose-driven team culture
- Access to health and wellbeing programs, including fitness passport
- Generous leave entitlements and staff benefits
- Commitment to living our values of respect, integrity, teamwork, trust and optimism. It is through respect, integrity and teamwork that we build trust and create optimism for Campbelltown's future.
