About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced speech pathologist to join a supportive team leading and providing high quality services to respiratory and critical care caseloads at Campbelltown Hospital.
As a senior clinician this position will provide services to patients with swallowing and communication impairments on respiratory and critical care caseloads including instrumental swallow assessments (VFSS and/or FEES), tracheostomy and laryngectomy management.
This position will lead service development, provide supervision and training to staff and students, engage collaboratively with specialist multidisciplinary teams including the Trache Resource Team (TRT) and work on quality improvement projects.
Flexibility to work across a range of inpatient and outpatient clinical streams and across sites to meet the needs of both the acute and subacute caseload is required.

What You'll be Doing
The position is responsible for leading, guiding and managing the delivery of speech pathology services to Respiratory and Critical Care caseloads. As a specialist senior clinician the speech pathologist is responsible for overseeing and providing an efficient and effective service through the application of high level clinical expertise and knowledge in the management of patients with swallowing and communication impairments. In the role as a clinical specialist, the speech pathologist is also responsible for providing district-wide consultative services within their area of clinical expertise. They will also contribute to senior departmental duties including clinical supervision, leading of quality improvement activities, participation in service development and other administrative responsibilities as required.

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.
Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Outline relevant clinical expertise in adult dysphagia and communication management across respiratory and critical care caseloads, including experience with VFSS and/or FEES, tracheostomy and laryngectomy management.
- Describe leadership experience in service planning and quality improvement process, including supervision of staff or students and examples of embedding evidence-based practice into team or service development.
- Do you have a current Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2)? if you hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
