Smart Staff International Pty Ltd (SSI) is a global leader in technical writing, training material development, and energy control and permit-to-work systems, serving the minerals processing, mining, and utilities industries.

We are currently seeking experienced Permit to Work (PTW) Specialists to support major operational, construction and commissioning projects across Australia and overseas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and apply boundary isolations to safeguard commissioning and construction activities.
  • Manage the Permit to Work system across multi-discipline projects, ensuring compliance with site procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the safe execution of high-risk work including hot work, confined space entry, excavation, and work at heights.
  • Interface with construction, commissioning, and HSE teams to embed strong safety practices across all work fronts.
  • Provide technical expertise in isolation management, PTW audits, and incident prevention.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 5+ years working with PTW systems and isolation management in mining, minerals processing, or utilities industries, inclusive of designing and applying equipment isolations.
  • Strong background in operational, construction and commissioning environments (Brownfields and / or Greenfields).
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and risk management.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multicultural environments, both domestically and overseas.
  • Relevant qualifications in WHS, engineering, or trade background will be highly regarded.
