About Us:

Larvotto Resources is an ASX listed company, advancing the world-class Hillgrove Gold and Antimony Project in NSW while actively exploring for copper and gold near Mt Isa in Queensland, lithium, rare earth elements (REE) and, base metals in Western Australia.

As we continue to grow, so does our Perth based team, and we now need an experienced Principal: Permitting and Compliance to lead and manage the permitting, regulatory compliance, and reporting function requirements for our Projects.  Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, this position ensures that the mine adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements related to environmental impact assessments, permits and licences.

This role is offered on a Monday to Friday, Perth based, 12-month max term contract.

Larvotto Resources' Head Office is in Nedlands, at the vibrant Broadway Shopping Centre, surrounded by cafes, restaurants and onsite parking.

About the Role

Permitting and Regulatory Compliance

  • Lead the process of acquiring and renewing all required permits, licenses, and approvals for mining operations, including environmental, water, land use, and health and safety permits.
  • Ensure that the mine complies with all local, regional, and national regulatory requirements, including environmental laws and mining regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of applications for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), and other necessary documentation.
  • Liaise with government agencies, environmental authorities, and other regulators to ensure smooth permitting processes and regulatory compliance.

Environmental Management and Sustainability

  • Collaborate with the environmental team to ensure that the mine's environmental impact is minimised, and that compliance with environmental standards is maintained.
  • Monitor the implementation of environmental management plans and other sustainability initiatives, ensuring that the company's operations are environmentally responsible.
  • Provide advice and guidance on community-based environmental issues and the integration of environmental considerations into permitting processes.
  • Contribute to the development of the mine's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and sustainability reports.

Government Relations and Advocacy

  • Represent the mine in dealings with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders.
  • Advocate for the company's interests in regulatory matters, while maintaining positive relationships with government officials and other key stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations related to mining, environmental protection, and community affairs, and advise management on potential impacts.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and review reports on permitting, regulatory compliance and environmental performance.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is maintained for audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Prepare and submit reports to senior management and regulatory agencies, providing updates on permitting status and regulatory compliance.

Strategic Planning and Advisory

  • Provide strategic advice to senior management on permitting processes and regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the mine's long-term sustainability and permitting strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends and government policies to anticipate regulatory changes and proactively address potential challenges.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Management, Law, Public Policy, or a related field (required).
  • Master's degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, or related discipline (highly desirable).
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in environmental permitting, community relations, and regulatory compliance in the mining industry, preferably in metals mining, ideally in NSW.
  • Proven experience in managing stakeholder engagement and navigating complex regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in leading environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and managing environmental compliance for large-scale industrial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of mining regulations, environmental laws, and permitting processes in NSW, WA and QLD.
  • In-depth understanding of environmental management practices, sustainability initiatives, and social license to operate.
  • Understanding of the cultural, social, and economic issues facing communities in mining areas.
  • Professional certifications in environmental management, permitting (e.g., CEnvP, EIA certification, or equivalent) (highly desirable).

Other Requirements

  • Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
  • Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance, obtained within the last six months upon request.
  • Current manual driver's licence
