Role overview:

We are supporting a federal client to strengthen their cyber security posture through the delivery of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) assurance across ICT systems and projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing adoption of secure-by-design methodologies and the operation of ICT systems by supporting audits, authorisation activities, and advising on mitigation strategies to enhance resilience in a high-security environment. You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, applying and managing security controls, and ensuring compliance with Australian Government cyber security frameworks.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive ICT risk assessments, gap analysis and develop remediation strategies, including for third-party vendors and systems, and evaluate compliance with PSPF, ISM and Essential 8 frameworks
  • Prepare and maintain system authorisation documentation, including SRMPs, SSPs, SOPs
  • Provide independent assurance and technical risk findings for executives, stakeholders and technical project teams
  • Stay current with emerging cyber threats, compliance obligations, and regulatory changes

To be successful, you will have extensive experience in:

  • Demonstrated experience in ICT security documentation and supporting system accreditation and assurance within federal government
  • Strong technical background in infrastructure, cloud or software development
  • Deep understanding of Australian Government cyber security frameworks
  • Knowledge of identity and access management principles
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or IRAP endorsement
