About the Role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a proactive Senior Professional Standards Officer to join the Transperth Train Operations division. Reporting to the Manager Professional Standards and Integrity, this role supports the accountability of culture within the division assisting with internal investigative processes, reviewing and auditing the use of force documentation and contributing to the development of policies, procedures and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Advisory service
: Provide expert advice on operational matters, coach and support staff across the organisation, and represent the PTA in court as a digital evidence specialist. - Investigations
: Lead and support investigations into conduct and compliance matters, ensuring evidence is collected and reported in line with legal standards. - Audit & Continuous Improvement
: Review policies, prepare audit reports, and contribute to ongoing improvements in investigative practices and service delivery.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Demonstrated experience investigating complaints and identifying breaches of legislation, industrial instruments, and policy, with a sound understanding of how these apply to people management.
- The ability to provide guidance, offer advice, and build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders in a dynamic operational environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess evidence, and make well-reasoned recommendations.
- Well-developed writing skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and confidential reports for senior management.
- A qualification in a relevant discipline, such as a Certificate IV in Government Investigations or similar.

There is
one
permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. This is a pool recruitment process and applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
To be eligible to work permanently at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen, have Permanent Residency status or hold a current visa with permanent working rights in Australia.
