About The RoleAs a DFR Nurse Officer, you'll be instrumental in conducting medical assessments and supporting candidate screening in line with Defence protocols. The successful candidate will be primarily based at Bourke Street Clinic (Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation) in Melbourne CBD on a full time basis working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct telephone vetting and face-to-face preliminary assessments
· Review medical history questionnaires and document findings in electronic health records
· Provide support and guidance to Medical Screeners
· Complete medical file reviews and manage report requests
· Monitor and maintain clinical equipment used during assessments
· Follow structured procedures within a defined Defence health framework
About YouYou are a registered nurse with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in patient care and documentation.
Essential Criteria:
· Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
· Minimum 3 years' broad clinical experience in a comparable health system
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Confident using electronic medical records and ICT systems
· Current Working with Children Check
· Current CPR certification (HLTAD009)
· Australian Citizenship (mandatory for AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance)
Desirable:
· Experience working in a Defence or base setting
· Background in pre-employment medicals or occupational health
