Purpose

The role is responsible for leading a team of Building Estimators. The Estimating Manager is responsible for the determination of winning construction methodology, scope works, specification, report quality and pricing. The Estimating Manager cultivates a team culture that seeks to continuously improve and deliver quality estimating for both CBS and our clients.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Promote strong relationships with clients and others within the CBS community.
  • Lead a team to deliver detailed scope of works, accurate tender pricing and quality reports.
  • Ensure Estimators compile and deliver accurate pricing and budget breakdowns on projects.
  • Deliver to the business successful tender results, target win ratios, and other KPIs as required.
  • Identifying training requirements and mentoring of estimators to improve estimate quality.
  • Lead the peer review process, quality audits, and assist with team learning.
  • Assisting the team identifying safety issues and other risk features within estimates
  • Overseeing the timely and accurate completion of on road and desktop estimates as required
  • Ensure trades/suppliers quotes and pricing complies with tender and budget requirements.
  • Work with the Construction Team to deliver value.
  • Adhere to company safety processes on all jobs.
  • Ensure all relevant licencing requirements, permits, forms, certificates, certification, approvals, design details, safety standards and best practices are observed and integrated in tender submissions.
  • Provide reporting on key department metrics as required.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or another relevant discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
