About the Role

You'll be an integral part of a growing Business Services & Tax team, working closely with the Partners and Senior Managers. This is not a "back-room" role – you'll have direct client exposure and the opportunity to shape how we work.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing individual tax returns
  • Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS)

  • Preparing year-end financial statements and income tax returns for:

  • Companies

  • Trusts
  • Partnerships
  • SMSFs
  • Working with cloud-based platforms including Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Class Super
  • Preparing and implementing tax planning strategies and strategic tax advice
  • Providing mentoring and support to junior team members
  • Liaising with the ATO and other government bodies
  • Working with challenging and interesting clients, including small businesses and serious property investors

About You

We are looking for a motivated, switched-on Accountant who wants to grow with the firm – not just clock in and out.

You will ideally have:

  • Degree qualifications in Accounting or related discipline
  • 3+ years' experience in public practice accounting
  • Strong experience with Xero and QuickBooks (Xero Tax in particular)
  • Experience with Class Super will be highly regarded
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work towards targets
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills – you'll be speaking with clients regularly
  • A professional, confident and approachable manner
  • A genuine interest in mentoring and supporting junior staff
