About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Arts Learning Officer to join the CAPTIVATE team on a temporary part-time basis. The ability to teach multiple instruments is desirable.
- Woodwind Tutor – 3 Days per week (Temporary Part-Time position).
The Woodwind Tutor undertakes the following responsibilities:
- Provide instrument-specific teaching to students both in small groups and, where requested, individually on a weekly basis both during school time and before or after school depending on spacing availability and student timetables.
- Provide regular feedback to students and biannual reports to parents.
- Provide instrument-specific knowledge to develop ensembles in both rehearsal and performance before and after school.
- Provide instrument-specific knowledge to support the work of the Specialist Teacher in the delivery of classroom-based band programs on a weekly basis during school time.
- Willingness and ability to deliver the classroom program when the assigned Specialist Teacher is away.
- Lead ensembles and workshops under the guidance of the Specialist Teacher both during school time and after school.
- Provide assessment, maintenance and cleaning, tagging and logging of instruments.
About You:
To be successful you will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with:
- Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback
- Demonstrated ability to work creatively and constructively to support diverse need
Qualifications and accreditations:
- Relevant demonstrated experience
- Working with Children Check clearance
