- Newly created opportunity - Climate Risk and Governance Officer
- Ongoing full-time role, 35 hrs/week
- Office based in Parramatta; flexible working supported- other established work locations deemed suitable across NSW may be considered
- Salary relative to experience ranging from $113,574 to $125,720 + superannuation & annual leave loading
We are currently seeking a passionate Climate Risk and Governance professional to join the Governance and Risk team at DCCEEW to support its work to effectively manage its climate risks and opportunities.
About the Role
The Climate Risk and Governance Officer will play a key role in helping the Department manage climate risks and opportunities. You will support governance activities, engage with stakeholders, and facilitate workshops, while also coordinating risk registers and providing expert advice on climate risk management. Your responsibilities will include building departmental capability, embedding climate risk considerations into decision-making, and ensuring effective governance structures are in place. Additionally, you will monitor evolving climate risk data to keep the Department aligned with emerging trends and frameworks.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Possess a strong understanding of climate risk management frameworks
- Engage effectively with stakeholders and provide clear, actionable advice
- Be highly organised and adept at managing multiple priorities
- Stay current with evolving climate data, frameworks, and trends
- Support the integration of climate risk into strategic decision-making
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications (bachelor's degree or higher) in relevant field and/or equivalent experience
