About The Role
Due to recent growth in our Casualty practice, we are hiring. This highly successful dynamic team is led nationally by Clyde & Co Partner Luke O'Kane, and will provide you with exposure to first rate matters and clients.
Our insurance practice in Australia is growing rapidly. Across the country, we now have over 20+ insurance partners who spread their expertise across a range of insurance lines and industries. We are consistently called upon to help key international and local insurers and corporates with their most complex insurance claims and issues.
Clyde & Co is a fully integrated global law firm, which provides unique opportunities to work with lawyers and partners throughout our international network. For example, our Global Associates Program gives our lawyers the opportunity to visit and work from our other offices throughout the world. Within Luke's team specifically, there is also regular cross-office interaction in respect to management of client files.
As to career development, we recognise and reward our talented employees and their career aspirations through a committed approach which focuses on internal promotion. We also provide structure with respect to career development and opportunities for employees to showcase their expertise in progressing within their chosen area. As an employee of Clyde & Co, you will be entitled to all of our benefits and an open environment where we look to improve our employees' overall experience, both in and out of the workplace.
About You
You have experience working in private practice. Experience in litigation, public/product liability and/or general insurance/coverage claims is essential. We are ideally looking for candidates with experience in civil claims related to abuse, including historic or institutional abuse-related matters. To apply you will need to demonstrate that you have a record of strong, consistent performance throughout your career within these areas of the law.
The Following Are The Core Requirements For These Roles
- a solid general insurance background gained from a top tier private practice environment from either Australia or overseas.
- precise, clear drafting skills.
- strong academics, self-driven, a 'can do' approach, with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- strong time management skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in order to meet deliverables to a very high standard.
- demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
- commercial awareness and confidence in building rapport with clients to gain a better understanding of their business' needs and with the assistance of the partners, actively developing client relationships.
- for more senior lawyers, the ability to lead, delegate and for all candidates, to foster a positive team environment.
When you work at Clyde & Co, you join a team of 500 partners, 2,400 lawyers, 3,200 legal professionals and 5,500 people in nearly 70 offices and associated offices worldwide. Our values are the principles that guide the decisions we make, unite us in our endeavours and strengthen our delivery, for both our clients and our firm. We work as one, excel with clients, celebrate difference and act boldly. We are committed to operating in a responsible way by progressing towards a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities and clients it serves. We are devoted to providing an environment in which everyone can realise their potential, using its legal and professional skills to support its communities. We do this through pro bono work, volunteering and charitable partnerships, and minimising the impact it has on the environment, including through our commitment to the SBTi Net-Zero standard and the setting of ambitious emissions reduction targets.
We offer a range of tailored benefits and support, including healthcare, retirement planning and wellbeing initiatives.
Clyde & Co is proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
