This exciting career opportunity is to lead the market development of one of the divisions, namely a supplier of premium chemical based products and services tailored to the marine, recreational vehicle (RV), and select industrial markets.

Reporting to a dynamic General manager who has led the business through an impressive growth phase, as Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of my clients marine, RV and industrial offerings. Your expertise will help them navigate emerging opportunities, and deliver best-in-class products and services to their valued customers. This is your chance to take the responsibility for a profitable business unit in an impactful role, managing existing accounts, whilst identifying new business opportunities both in traditional markets and introducing new products as they are developed, forging meaningful partnerships, and developing strategies that maintain our client as genuine market leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Revenue Growth: Drive sales initiatives by identifying and pursuing new clients, negotiating contracts, and closing deals that deliver value to the company.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with existing and new clients. Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts and industry stakeholders.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and potential gaps in the marine, RV and industrial sectors. Develop go to market strategies to capture new business opportunities.
  • Product & Service Innovation: Collaborate with internal technical teams to inform product development based on market feedback. Advocate for solutions that address the evolving demands of existing and potential customers.
  • Brand Promotion: Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, and conferences. Champion their offerings with compelling presentations, demonstrations, and networking activities.
  • Reporting: Regularly report on business development activities, sales results, and market insights to senior leadership. Use data-driven approaches to refine strategies and achieve growth targets.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' proven success in sales, business development, or account management, preferably within the marine, RV and industrial markets, or aligned technical field.
  • Education: Minimum Certificate level Sale/Marketing with graduate qualifications in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related discipline well regarded.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the marine, RV or industrial markets, including key players, trends, and customer behaviours.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and convey value propositions clearly and persuasively.
  • Negotiation: Demonstrated ability to negotiate supply deals and foster win-win outcomes.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Adept at turning insights into actionable business plans.
  • Self-Motivation: Driven, proactive, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel: As this is a national role travel interstate will be required plus 3-4 industry trade shows per year requiring weekend attendance.
