Are you an experienced OT who's had enough of unmanageable caseloads and feeling like you're running on empty? If you're ready to find a role where you can make a real difference without burning out, Kids First Children's Services on Sydney's Northern Beaches might be just what you're looking for.
At Kids First, We Get ItWe know that being an OT is rewarding, but it can also be tough – especially when you're juggling endless client appointments, admin, and travel. That's why we focus on your well-being as much as the children you support. At Kids First, you're a person first and a practitioner second. Our goal? To help you burn bright, not burn out.
A Different Kind of PracticeSince 2007, we've been committed to delivering high-quality care to thousands of children aged 2-18, while building a team that genuinely loves working together. Our multi-disciplinary group of child psychologists, speech pathologists, early intervention teachers, and OTs work collaboratively to support families and each other. We are an award-winning, vibrant team and we're driven by our Core Values: Care, Kindness, Compassion, and Making a Contribution.
A Deep Commitment to Your Professional GrowthAt Kids First, we invest in your future. You'll receive regular mentoring from a dedicated OT Team Leader, ensuring that you always have guidance and support when you need it. Our generous PD budget means you'll never miss out on professional development opportunities, and our weekly multidisciplinary 'hub' meetings and fortnightly case conferences give you the chance to collaborate, share insights, and keep learning from colleagues across child psychology, speech pathology, and early intervention and education. We are deeply committed to your personal and professional growth, every step of the way.
Our Core Values and Positive CultureEverything we do is driven by our Core Values. Whether it's through our Therapy For Good charity work, our 'Team Member of the Month' awards, or our quarterly offsite culture and connection opportunities, we bring these values into our everyday work.
We also know how to have fun together Recently, we've taken time out of our working days to enjoy barefoot bowls, beachside lunches, and many more team events that keep us connected as like-minded, genuinely supportive colleagues.
Why Join Us?- We value your time: We make sure you've got dedicated time for collaboration, admin, and client care – no more endless rushing around or getting stuck in traffic While we do a little mobile work within 5km of the clinic, most of your time will be spent in our fabulously fun OT rooms.
- Real collaboration: You won't be on your own here. You'll regularly work alongside child psychologists, speech pathologists, and early intervention teachers in a truly multidisciplinary setting. Our regular meetings and case conferences are all about sharing knowledge, learning from each other, and growing together
- We don't just want you to cope – we want you to thrive: You'll have a customised career roadmap that matches your personal and professional goals. Want to specialise, mentor, or bring new ideas to life? We'll back you all the way.
- Manageable caseloads and room to breathe: We keep caseloads reasonable so you can focus on providing the best care, not just stressing over unreachable 'KPIs'. At Kids First, we understand that you need the time and space to make a real impact without feeling overwhelmed and you'll benefit from dedicated daily time that's blocked out for admin and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
- Better work-life balance: We believe in respecting the boundaries between work and home life. With fantastic systems, 'Early Finish Friday' and supportive colleagues, you'll have the balance you need to be at your best – at work and in life.
- Career Growth: This is a full-time role, offering plenty of opportunities to develop and progress.
- Competitive Pay: At Kids First, we'll pay you what you're worth, provide you with a generous PD allowance, and give you the chance to reach your personal financial goals with a Remuneration & Rewards programme that recognises the contribution you make to your clients, colleagues and clinic.
- Strong Support Structure: Kids First invests in our team's personal and professional well-being. You'll be supported by an experienced Clinical Operations Manager and your own OT Team Leader, who will guide and help you to be the very best person and professional that you can be. Our fantastic Customer Service Team looks after all of the 'logistics' too – meaning that you can focus on delivering the very best, evidence-based intervention to your clients.
- A Fun, Supportive Team: We're a close-knit, friendly bunch. We value connection, learning, and the occasional social event
- Fully Qualified:
Are you registered as an occupational therapist with AHPRA and are you eligible to hold a Medicare Provider Number? - Communication & Connection:
Do you excel at building strong relationships with children and their families, communicating with warmth and empathy? - Team Collaboration:
Do you thrive in a collaborative setting, working seamlessly with passionate colleagues across various disciplines? - Experience in Working with Children:
Have you worked with children before – and more importantly – is making a difference in young lives your professional passion? - Location:
Do you live within a comfortable (and sustainable) commute to Brookvale, in Sydney?
At Kids First, we are not looking for simply 'any' OT. We're looking for someone who shares our Core Values and thrives in a collaborative, caring environment. We're looking for someone who wants to join us for a Career, and NOT just a Year If you're ready to be part of a like-minded team that supports you as much as you support others, this is the perfect place for you.
