We are looking for a Operations Finance Managerto work with our team located in Altona.

FTA Food Solutions is a major supply-chain solutions-based importer and distributor of food products for the Australian, New Zealand and export markets.
About the role
Reporting to the CFO this role is responsible for delivering key finance outcomes for the business including the preparation, evaluation and presentation of financial results and forecasts for the Operations and Supply Chain business in a timely and accurate manner. Working closely with the Operations and Supply Chain team, overseeing the financial performance of the manufacturing facility, logistics and Third-Party Logistics facilities, including the management of cost and production variances, Standard COGS settings and inventory valuations. Additionally, this role is responsible for the oversite and review of productivity, capital and new product initiatives including forecasting cost estimates and validating benefits to the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Periodically update all standard costs to maintain accurate COGS and inventory values (as required).
- Calculate standard/replacement costs for new product developments (NPDs) and new items.
- Maintain NZ inter-company transfer pricing.
- Maintain replacement costing and standard costs for all inventory items.
- Reconcile inventory accounts in the balance sheet across all distribution centres.
- Prepare annual budgets for production by department and account.
- Monitor actual costs vs. budget and prior year (monthly).
- Forecast cost estimates and validate benefits for productivity, capital, and NPD initiatives.
- Maintain cost model to analyse various plant scenarios including inbound and outbound logistics costs.
- Partner with production team to analyse plant performance.
- Provide financial support for tendering and NPDs.
- Present financial results and forecasts for operations and supply chain in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide costing and inventory information to External Auditors to support the annual financial audit.
- Partner with the Commercial, Procurement and Finance functions to determine and implement process improvements in costing, analysis, and reporting.
About you
The ideal candidate will have been working within supply chain, operations or manufacturing environments for a minimum of 5 years.
More specifically, the ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in financial/management accounting within a dynamic, agile, and fast-paced entrepreneurial business environment (Essential).
- Working knowledge and experience within FMCG, Manufacturing or Wholesale, including controlling plant P&L's.
- Demonstrate experience developing Warehousing and Logistics cost models.
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental accounting principles including interpretation and application of Australian Accounting Standards (Essential).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (Desirable).
- Knowledge of BC365 / similar systems (Desirable).
- Demonstrated capability in leading, developing, and growing finance teams/functions (Desirable).
- Experience negotiating and influencing senior business leaders and key stakeholders.
- Strong ability to confidently interact with staff at all levels, build and maintain effective relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and resolve problems, identify operating efficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting or business-related - CPA / CA professional qualification (Essential).
