Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled person to support our financial operations remotely. This role requires expertise in Xero and MYOB, payroll processing, government grants and acquittals, BAS returns, administration, and general accounting functions. The successful candidate will liaise with clients, auditors, government entities, and internal stakeholders while ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

· Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage invoices, payments, and receipts.

· Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

· Bank Reconciliations: Perform reconciliation tasks and address discrepancies.

· Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.

· Government Grants & Acquittals: Handle financial aspects of grant funding and acquittals.

· BAS Returns: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS); BAS agent preferred.

· Excel & Word Documentation: Use Excel for financial analysis at a high level, and basic Word processing.

· Client Communication: Engage with clients via phone, resolving account-related queries and administration matters.

· Auditor Coordination: Assist in audit information preparations and liaise with auditors.

· Debtors & Creditors Management: Oversee financial transactions with suppliers and customers

· Monthly, Quarterly & EOFY reporting requirements?

Work Schedule & Compensation

· Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (35–40 hours per week).

· Contract Rate: $40–$42 per hour, including superannuation.

· Work Environment: Work from Home, although must reside in the Cairns region.

. Training will be provided by experienced staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Proven experience with Xero and MYOB accounting software.

· Strong knowledge of payroll processing and government grant acquittals.

· Experience in BAS returns (BAS Agent preferred).

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Strong communication skills, particularly in client interactions via phone.

· Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
