The Opportunity: Digital Content Specialist – Health Content (12-month contract)
The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for supporting the digital content production pipeline to ensure timely delivery of high-quality health education content for Bupa. This role involves hands-on work with copywriting, editing, and publishing processes, supporting the end-to-end creation and maintenance of health content across channels.
The position requires close collaboration with writers, designers, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to uphold brand standards, clinical accuracy, and digital best practices.
The specialist will conduct research, source credible references, and apply appropriate style guides to develop clear, comprehensible, and evidence-based materials that are fit-for-purpose for the channels at play as part of our customer's health journey experience – this includes servicing direct-to-customer channels like web, app and DM, and also materials to support internal/frontline teams who service customers (scripts/conversation guides for phone, chat, IVR, etc).
This role is also central to preparing digital assets for web authoring and publication, including sourcing multimedia materials, and obtaining necessary permissions. The specialist will coordinate internal approvals, maintain records of content status, and administer internal workflows, processes, and governance frameworks. Effective administration ensures compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and organizational policies, reducing risk and supporting ongoing content improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
Here's what you can look forward to in this role:
- Engage with and act as a conduit between digital production and content writers, strategists, and creative resources to source, manage, and prepare digital assets (e.g., images, graphics, multimedia) for publication.
- Write and sub-edit content to pick up on grammar, broken links, missing media, formatting issues, and TOV wash, and ensure it meets accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with SEO specialists to ensure content is optimised for search engines, improving organic visibility and discoverability.
- Coordinate with internal teams and subject matter experts to gather information, draft content, and secure approvals.
- Administer and document internal content workflows, governance processes, and compliance requirements.
- You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time. (Not to be removed)
What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you'll ideally have:
- Strong writing, copy editing, and proofreading skills with demonstrated experience in health or technical content.
- Experience in digital content production, including asset management and web authoring tools (e.g., CMS platforms like Sitecore)
- Ability to research, synthesize, and translate complex information for general audiences.
- Demonstrated understanding of SEO principles and digital accessibility standards
- Proficiency in project management and workflow administration tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities; able to collaborate across teams.
- Experience working within structured governance frameworks and obtaining stakeholder approvals.
- Qualifications in digital content production/management, journalism, professional writing, editing or communications would be highly regarded.
