Who we are

Barton Gold is an Australian gold developer with 2.2Moz Au and 3.1Moz Ag JORC Resources and the only gold mill in South Australia's renowned Central Gawler Craton. Barton is targeting 150,000ozpa gold production through a staged, lower-cost, lower-risk and lower-dilution development strategy, targeting 'Stage 1' operations from the end of 2026.

Barton is embarking on an exciting period of investment and expansion as it develops into South Australia's largest pure play gold producer. The Company is looking for a new Head of Corporate Affairs to join the team ahead of this transition. This is an executive role overseeing all aspects of Barton's stakeholder engagement, external communication, and sustainability initiatives.

About the Opportunity

The Head of Corporate Affairs will be responsible for both internal and external engagement activities, including stakeholder relations, investor relations, media and branding, and community and sustainability initiatives. This will include formalizing the company's communications strategy and developing / managing internal and external events.

Please note: This is a full-time role, based in Adelaide, South Australia with commencement from early February or March 2026. A relocation package will be available to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage Barton's Corporate Affairs strategy including stakeholder, investor and media relations.
  • Engage with Government at Federal, State and Departmental levels to liaise with key relationships and facilitate communications during development and operations.
  • Develop and coordinate the Company's stakeholder engagement and philanthropic endeavours, including coordination with third party initiatives and sponsors.
  • Develop external communications strategy including opportunity identification, media production, publication and promotion.
  • Manage the Company's investor relations activities, including ASX announcements, periodic reporting, conferences and global investor events.
  • Advise the Board and other senior leadership on key issues, strategy development and engagement priorities with the company's many valued stakeholders and partners.
  • Develop and manage the Company's sustainability and reporting framework.
  • Coordinate with other Company leadership to foster strong internal workplace culture, including awareness and coordination for key initiatives and company values.

About You

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Communications, Public Policy, and/or Government Relations.
  • Strong understanding of political, policy, and legislative processes.
  • Experience analysing complex issues and crafting effective communication strategies.
  • Experience liaising directly with Government stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience in the natural resources sector, media, or engagement with Defence / management of sensitive information will be considered an advantage
