The Opportunity

Reporting to the MDC Manager, you'll manage the day-to-day operations and workflow of the production team, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily workshop operations, ensuring output, quality, and delivery standards are met
  • Lead, mentor and develop the production floor team
  • Drive a positive, collaborative workplace culture, supporting high staff satisfaction and retention
  • Conduct regular toolbox meetings and foster team engagement
  • Establish and monitor production schedules, manage Work-in-Progress (WIP), and coordinate job priorities
  • Maintain and optimise systems for scheduling, job tracking, and reporting
  • Expertly manage inventory and stores, holding weekly supply/production meetings, forecasting, and minimising waste
  • Ensure complete occupational health & safety compliance (OHS, SWP, SOP); report and action all incidents
  • Liaise cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse, Employee Relations, and States Managers

Skills & Experience – What You Bring

Essential:

  • 3–5 years' experience in Production (automotive/manufacturing industry preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and deliver under pressure
  • Advanced inventory, scheduling, and cost control acumen
  • Thorough understanding of workshop safety, incident reporting and compliance requirements
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal communication skills
