Type: Ongoing long term project

Rate: $70.00 day shift / $80.50 night shift

Our client continues to expand its footprint across Western Australia's iron ore sector. As operations increase, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hands to support daily production and operations.

Fleet on site includes:

  • Komatsu 785 & CAT 777 haul trucks, Komatsu 730E (electric drive)
  • CAT 980M loaders, CAT 16M graders
  • CAT D10/D11 dozers, Komatsu PC1250 excavators
What you'll do
  • Lead a production crew to deliver daily and shift targets (tonnes, cycle time, compliance).
  • Run pre-starts, task allocations, FLRA/JSAs, and shift handovers.
  • Coordinate dig, load and haul—manage queue discipline, spotters, and traffic rules.
  • Monitor haul road standards, floor conditions, windrows and signage; request grader/dozer support.
  • Coach operators on defect reporting, radio etiquette, and hazard ID; reinforce SOPs.
  • Liaise with Dispatch/Supervisors, ROM and Crusher to maintain product flow.
  • Complete production reports, downtime reasons and event logs accurately.
  • Champion site safety—stop work when required and escalate issues promptly.
What you'll bring
  • Proven Leading Hand / Senior Operator experience in open-pit iron ore (or equivalent bulk).
  • Proficiency on at least two of: trucks (785/777/730E), dozer (D10/D11), loader (980M), grader (16M), dig (PC1250).
  • Strong understanding of mine traffic management, survey/dig plans, and ROM interface.
  • Solid communication, coaching mindset, and safety leadership.
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening; FIFO-ready from Perth.
