Key Responsibilities:
- Develop preventative maintenance (PM) tasks and detailed work instructions within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Generate and schedule work orders using the CMMS to ensure timely execution of PM activities.
- Create and distribute daily maintenance schedules for the Maintenance Department.
- Print and allocate work orders to appropriate trades personnel.
- Identify recurring machine issues and convert them into structured PM tasks.
- Collaborate with trades staff to define and refine PM tasks based on operational feedback.
- Maintain and update documentation associated with PM tasks and procedures.
- Analyse equipment failures and implement new PM tasks to address root causes where applicable.
- Enter follow-up work orders into the CMMS as required post-task completion.
- Oversee the management of spare parts and materials required for preventative maintenance (PM) activities.
- Ensure all necessary parts and consumables are identified, ordered, and available in advance of scheduled PM tasks to prevent delays.
- Maintain and update stores catalogues and inventory records as new parts are introduced or specifications change.
- Manage the stores area, ensuring effective inventory control practices, stock accuracy, and proper storage of maintenance parts.
- Ensure all parts and materials used during PM activities are accurately recorded and allocated to the correct work orders in the CMMS for cost tracking and traceability.
Communication & Coordination:
- Collaborate with Trades staff to plan and coordinate maintenance tasks and setups.
- Liaise with the Continuous Improvement (CI) team regarding equipment setup changes and machine reliability enhancements.
- Coordinate with Production to address machine issues and drive ongoing performance improvements.
- Work with the Scheduling team to align task priorities with machine availability.
- Engage with Engineering for technical expertise and support with machine-specific maintenance requirements.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to develop and finalize daily trade schedules.
- Organize and participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment with business and operational needs.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all Preventative Maintenance (PM) routines incorporate relevant safety procedures and requirements.
- Maintain equipment in compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Adhere to and promote all workplace health and safety policies at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a Preventative Maintenance and/or Maintenance Planning role.
- Trade qualification or tertiary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably MEX.
- Proficient computer skills, with strong competency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.
