The Manager, Governance & Strategy role is a 2nd LoD role, "independent" (i.e. organisationally segregated) from management and employees that originate risk exposures. The role is a strategic one in the Bank, looking at reaching the appropriate maturity level in line with ING Standards, (for both 1st & 2nd LoD) in conjunction with the other NFR disciplines (i.e. Technology Risk Management, Operations and Resilience Risk Management, Business Aligned Monitoring and Assurance and Wholesale Banking Operational Risk Management).

This role is a support role to a team of trusted advisors in the implementation of the operational risk management framework with a specialist focus on reporting, analytics, risk systems and information and the associated business processes that the solutions support.

What you will do

  • Assisting the local lead in delivering and implementing change initiatives relating to risk systems and information (including but not limited to iRisk updates and changes)
  • Assisting in the managing the portfolio of global and divisional-initiated risk system changes where ING Australia is required to implement or participate in
  • Assisting in strategic initiatives that involve design, implementation and embedding of risk systems, information and associated practices and processes
  • Assisting the Governance & Strategy Lead and working with the ORM Data Steward in developing, implementing and maturing its data quality management activities
  • Providing day-to-day support and advice to our business units on the use of our GRC
  • Contributing to the uplift in risk systems and information maturity in our business units including delivering technical training to users

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in Risk, Compliance and/or Audit background
  • Financial Services background with minimum of 10 years' experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance or business
  • Sound understanding of operational risk including the frameworks and in practice
  • Sound understanding of risk systems and information
  • Understanding of the business drivers and the strategic direction of the Bank and role of risk management in achieving objectives
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Access
