ABOUT THE ROLE:
Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking a forward thinking and dynamic Team Leader Visitor Services to drive excellence across our Visitor Information Centre (VIC) network.
In this leadership role, you'll oversee the daily operations of our seven-day visitor service, while driving innovation and future focused change. You will guide a passionate team to deliver high-quality, welcoming and memorable visitor experiences.
From coordinating staff and volunteer rosters to refining procedures and managing performance data, you'll ensure our VICs remain at the forefront of the tourism sector. You'll also lead and contribute to key tourism projects, digital transformation initiatives, and build strong partnerships across the tourism industry and local community.
A BIT ABOUT YOU:
You're an experienced and inspiring leader who thrives in a customer-focused environment and is ready to shape the future of visitor services in one of Victoria's most loved coastal regions.
Your background includes:
- A tertiary qualification in Tourism, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in visitor services.
- A strong track record in people leadership, with the ability to foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Hands-on experience managing business operations across multiple sites, including rostering, volunteer coordination, and financial processes.
- A passion for innovation, with the drive to lead through change and implement continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective partnerships across the tourism sector, community, and Council teams.
- A strong understanding of tourism environments, ideally with knowledge of Phillip Island and the wider Bass Coast.
- High proficiency with customer service technologies, including point of sale and booking platforms.
- Flexibility to work across the region on a seven-day rotating roster (with two days off per week).
