About the opportunity

This is a rare chance to step into a start up CFO role where your leadership genuinely moves the needle. You walk into an early-stage environment that is ambitious, restless and ready to grow. The organisation needs a CFO who can bring clarity, confidence and structure without slowing momentum.

You will steady the financial foundations, build discipline around planning and performance, and turn information into sharp, forward-looking insight.

You will guide a newly forming executive team, partner closely with the CEO and help create a culture where accountability, transparency and smart decision making become the norm.

Success here looks like a clean, reliable finance engine within 3 months, a fully functioning FP&A rhythm by 6 months and a strategy aligned financial model by month 12 that allows the business to grow with intention rather than hope. Your work directly shapes the path of the organisation and sets the tone for how people lead, collaborate and deliver.

About you

You bring a steady hand and a clear head. You have led finance through change and know how to bring people with you. You thrive in early-stage environments where the job is to build, influence and lift capability rather than simply manage BAU. You know how to create structure without adding bureaucracy. You communicate with impact, simplify complexity and help others make better choices. The CEO will look to you as a thought partner and the team will look to you for direction. You must have experience of start up businesses and in manufacturing, construction or similar capital-intensive environments. 

• Proven CFO with at least 10 years in senior finance roles. 

• Experience in manufacturing, construction or similar capital-intensive environments. 

• Direct experience in startups or scale ups. 

• Calm under pressure. 

• Strong in 3-way financial modelling and forecasting. 

• Experience managing bank guarantees, investor packs and complex funding work. 

• Resilient, steady, mature and confident working in a fast-moving environment. 

• Able to work closely with a founder. 

• Capable of pushing back respectfully with data and logic. 

• Agile, practical and solutions driven. 

• Able to recruit and lead a small finance team from the ground up. 

• No ego. No drama. Stable, accountable and commercially sharp.
