About the Role: We are seeking an adaptable Junior Medical Receptionist to join our busy general practice. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the clinic, ensuring smooth front desk operations, excellent patient service, and support for the clinical team.

This is a casual entry level role, requiring availability across 2-3 days per week, with flexibility. The role involves working independently at times and also overseeing other reception staff as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee daily reception desk operations.
  • Welcome and assist patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling, patient flow, and clinical sessions.
  • Handle phone and email enquiries, appointment bookings, and follow-ups.
  • Process Medicare, DVA, and private billing, including EFTPOS and online claims.
  • Ensure accurate patient data entry and records management.
  • Liaise with GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals to support smooth clinic function.
  • Order and maintain office and medical supplies.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks including reminders, document handling (e.g., referrals, correspondence), reconciliation, and other management matters.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining practice policies and procedures.
  • Handle sensitive situations with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Look after practice interest and patient wellbeing.

Requirements:
  • Having work experience is not required. It is more important that candidates are adaptable and quick to learn.
  • Good communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Excellent organisational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • High capacity to function in a team environment.
  • Professional presentation and a customer service mindset.
