About the Role

We have a new opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team based at our Head Office in West Footscray. You will have access to West Footscray station which is a 5-minute walk or, if you drive to work, we have free onsite parking. The work environment is professional but relaxed and would suit someone who is looking to work in a small team but highly collaborative.

In this role, you will report to Accounts Payable Team Leader and be responsible for the end-to-end accounts payable processes supporting our national manufacturing and service operations. You'll manage the full cycle of vendor invoice processing and payments, reconcile statements, and maintain accurate records and control reports.

You'll serve as a vital link between the accounts and operations teams—ensuring financial processes are well-aligned, consistently followed, and payments across our multi-site, high-volume network are processed accurately and on time and meeting agreed terms of business and managing strict compliance with internal requirements.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Accurately and efficiently process accounts payable invoices, monitoring the transactions to ensure integrity from start to finish
  • Drive process efficiency via the use of AP automation programs and branch support activities
  • Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve queries promptly and professionally
  • Enforce adherence to internal controls, GST legislation, and ATO compliance standards
  • Perform key reconciliations and prepare accurate and timely payment proposals
  • Support month-end processing, reporting requirements, and process improvement initiatives
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute the full Accounts Payable process, including supplier payment runs
  • Ensure the accurate entry and processing of all invoices with complete transactional integrity
  • Maintain positive supplier and branch relationships by managing AP related inquiries timely and efficiently
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in high-volume Accounts Payable roles within large, multi-branch/entity organisations—ideally in the manufacturing sector
  • Demonstrated success in a senior AP role, particularly within a multi-site de-centralised AP environment, with the ability to step in as 2IC when needed
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of AP automation software
  • Proven expertise in end-to-end AP processes, supplier account management, General Ledger coding, supplier statement reconciliations, and resolving account variances with speed and accuracy
  • Thorough understanding of GST legislation and ATO compliance requirements
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments, handling high-value vendor accounts and averaging 300+ invoices processed per day
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and data reconciliation capabilities
  • Effective stakeholder engagement across all levels, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems—Epicor highly regarded
  • Confident user of Microsoft Excel, with strong organisational and time management abilities
  • A Certificate in Accounting or a related discipline (preferred)
  • A motivated, self-starting attitude with the flexibility to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team
  • Exposure to international currency processing and payments will be seen as an advantage
