About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accounts Receivable Officer to take full ownership of the end-to-end Accounts Receivable function and to join our Finance team based at our Head Office in West Footscray. The West Footscray station which is a 5-minute walk or, if you drive to work, we have free onsite parking. The work environment is professional but relaxed and would suit someone who is looking to work in a small team that is highly collaborative.

In this role, you will report to Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist and be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the debtor's ledger, assist with managing cash flow forecasts, overseeing collections and credit control, and helping with continuous improvement across AR processes and systems.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintain integrity of debtor's ledger, including aging, collections, credit limits, and invoice legitimacy.
  • Monitor and manage weekly and monthly cash forecast targets, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to internal and external AR-related queries.
  • Oversee the release of customer orders/jobs on hold in line with cash flow priorities.
  • Generate and distribute monthly customer statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer receipts, credit card transactions, and miscellaneous AR invoices.
  • Reconcile Ariba customer invoices and provide weekly reporting on cash-impacting delays.
  • Manage deferred revenue, advance billing, and project invoicing reconciliations.
  • Provide monthly aged receivables reporting.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely audits.
  • Liaise with various internal units to resolve overdue, disputed, or accounts on stop.
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.

What You'll Bring?

You will bring a solid background in accounts receivable or a similar finance role, with a proven track record of managing high-volume, complex ledgers—ideally across multi-entity environments. Your advanced understanding of AR systems and processes is complemented by strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as SAP or Epicor. Exposure to procurement platforms like Ariba will be highly regarded. You demonstrate strong attention to detail, consistently enter financial data with high accuracy, and have a deep understanding of AR controls aligned with compliance standards.

You're adaptable in dynamic environments, responsive to change, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development.
