As a Maintenance Officer you'll work with our team at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets, considered one of the largest selling centres in Australia in terms of combined sheep and cattle numbers You'll play a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity of our saleyards while adhering to stringent animal welfare standards and EPA regulations. You'll be an integral part of our team, ensuring the livestock markets run smoothly and efficiently, all while contributing to the nurturing of a supportive and collaborative work environment.

You'll work with a great team to:

• Undertake general maintenance of the Dubbo Regional Livestock Market, including but not limited to, painting, concreting, carpentry, plumbing, lawn and tree maintenance, cleaning, fencing, and minor building maintenance and repairs
  
• Drive, operate and undertake maintenance of plant machinery competently
• Euthanizing and disposing of crippled/diseased stock
• Assist with general duties at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets as required

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

• Physical fitness to carry out the requirements of the role
  
• Demonstrated experience and skills in plant operation
• Ability to work co-operatively in a team

We would also love you to have:

• MR Drivers Licence
  
• Possession of or ability to obtain a firearms licence
• Basic Carpentry / metal working skills
• Chemsafe / chemical handling
• Certificate II Agriculture

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $57,826 to $67,203 plus a 3% Award increase payable post 1 July 2025.
