About the role
Precision Aerial is seeking to fill the role of Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our aerial application, crop protection and fixed-wing fire suppression activities.
This is a full-time role based in Meandarra, Queensland, offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of aerial application operations and management.
What you'll be doing
- Manage and coordinate all aircraft & ground operational activities
- Daily liaison with clients, agronomists, chemical suppliers to coordinate applications
- CLASS computer program data entry and production of duty sheets for pilots and ground loading teams
- Lead and develop a team of skilled pilots and ground crews
- Aircraft loading, as needed, during peak seasonal conditions
- Coordinate the maintenance and airworthiness of our aircraft fleet
- Coordination of the base maintenance and cleanliness
- Assist other staff with relevant aviation and aerial application regulation compliance
- Assist with ongoing development and implementation of our safety management system
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in Aerial Application operations OR Farm Management OR Agri-Services OR Agronomy, preferably in a supervisory or logistics role
- Someone with an interest in aviation OR someone who enjoys working around aircraft OR ideally someone who is familiar with agricultural aircraft, refueling and loading equipment
- People management and leadership skills to motivate and develop a team
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with farming clients
- General computer literacy, and the ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations quickly
- Preferred qualifications (or willingness to obtain):
Medium Rigid Truck Licence, Dangerous Goods Driver Licence, Forklift Licence, Valid Australian Driver's Licence, Chemical Handling Accreditation
