Fleet Maintenance Coordinator/Mechanic

We are seeking to add experience and expertise to our current workshop team by adding a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator/Mechanic overseeing our South West Brisbane based fleets.

This role will entail:

  • Coordinating the timely maintenance and service schedule for our South Western based fleet. (managing approximately 140 assets)
  • Carry out mechanical repairs as needed, prioritising urgent requirements including breakdowns
  • Carry out planned trailer servicing on site when due
  • Inspect and ensure quality of work has been maintained by external repairers
  • Track work progress and liaise with all parties in the process - providing regularly / timely updates including notification of delays or additional work requirements.
  • Where possible support in diagnosis of issues with driver or Operations Managers - and provide a plan for rectification, drawing on your network of approved repairers and suppliers
  • Ensure work is undertaken safely and efficiently - maintain regular monitoring / checks as part of our safe systems of work
  • Work in with Workshop Manager and team at the head office for support and feedback, including participation in team meetings, apprentice development etc.

You must be able to demonstrate safe work practices and be confident to work in a team and independently (depending on the task)

Qualifications required for this role:

  • Trade Qualified in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter
  • HC truck license preferred
  • Forklift HRW licence preferred
