About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team Based at our Alexandria head office, you'll support the Senior Accountant with payroll, reconciliations, overseas shipments payments, and month-end processes, while gaining broad hands-on accounting experience.

What you will be doing

  • Actively assist with essential month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Process payments for overseas shipments.
  • Maintaining the overseas shipments payments and invoice list.
  • Enter costing journal for overseas shipments received.
  • Preparing and processing general journals, month end accruals.
  • Perform Daily Bank reconciliation.
  • Process payroll and lodge payroll tax.
  • Perform monthly Balance sheet reconciliations for review by the Senior Accountant.
  • Performing ad hoc duties as requested.

Qualifications and experience requirements

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • CA or CPA will add value to your application.
  • Experience working with any Accounting software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Numerically strong and have proficient data entry skills.
  • Highly organised with high level attention to detail.
