About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on DevOps Manager to lead and scale our infrastructure, CI/CD, and platform reliability capabilities. You'll be both a technical contributor and a team leader, driving DevOps best practices while mentoring engineers and collaborating across development, security, and operations teams.

You'll play a key role in ensuring our systems are secure, automated, observable, and resilient as we continue to scale. You'll balance technical delivery with financial accountability — ensuring our platforms are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient. This is a key role for someone who thrives on automation, reliability, and finding smarter ways to run modern cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

· Lead and mentor a small team of talented DevOps and SRE engineers.

· Define and implement DevOps strategy aligned with business and engineering goals.

· Drive automation, observability, and performance improvement initiatives.

· Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and Product to align on release and reliability goals.

Hands-On Technical Delivery

· Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple environments.

· Manage infrastructure (cloud and on-prem as applicable) using IaC (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

· Optimize containerization and orchestration workflows (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm).

· Own system observability—logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.

· Ensure security patches, compliance, and ISO/SOC readiness across environments.

· Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term fixes.

What You'll Bring

Must-Have Skills:

· 6+ years of DevOps or SRE experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity.

· Proven hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

· Strong background in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).

· Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).

· Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).

· Experience managing both Windows and Linux environments.

· Deep understanding of system monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).

· Ability to build resilient and highly available systems with backup facilities and disaster recovery strategies

· Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Go).

· Familiarity with security, compliance, and patch management practices.

· Proven ability with DevSecOps, Penetration Testing engagements, CVEs.

· Any valid work visa is required for Australian work rights eligibility.

Nice-to-Haves

· Experience with ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar compliance programs.

· Exposure to cost optimization (finOps) and multi-tenant infrastructure management.

· Previous experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
