Who we are
FloodMapp, a leader in operational, impact-based flood forecasting, is expanding our team in Australia and the United States to build a safer future. Flooding is the costliest natural disaster, causing billions in damage and taking thousands of lives across the globe every year. FloodMapp offers real-time flood forecasting and mapping intelligence using cutting edge technology. We work with large organizations across the public and private sector to improve safety and mitigate damage in the event of flooding.
At FloodMapp, people are our main focus, because hard problems require an exceptional team. As a diverse team, we value empathy, integrity, accountability and communication. Everyone learns from each other. Everyone is passionate about solving a growing global problem and making a global impact. We all work to build a safer future.
The role
With a strong starting roster of AUS customers, we're ready to hire an entrepreneurial Account Executive. As such, you'll have an extensive territory and the ground-floor influence to shape our sales process as we scale. Your mission is to build a portfolio of accounts to fuel adoption of FloodMapp.
- Drive new ARR growth by expanding FloodMapp's AUS customer base across public and private sectors.
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline, in line with company growth strategy.
- Lead consultative, value-based sales from discovery through negotiation and contract execution.
- Own the process of developing customer quotes, proposals, and formal bid/RFP responses, coordinating with internal teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client priorities.
- Navigate complex procurement cycles and secure contracts that deploy FloodMapp's operational flood technology, helping clients build flood resilience.
- Proactively prospect target accounts while responding to and advancing inbound opportunities.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with our clients to provide a smooth and positive experience during the sales & onboarding process.
- Represent FloodMapp at industry events, positioning our impact in resilience, safety, and risk reduction.
- Partner with marketing to amplify case studies and client success stories to generate demand.
Your skills & background
Required skills and experience
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in enterprise sales, ideally selling to government agencies and/or critical infrastructure.
- Proven success executing full sales cycle and exceeding ARR targets.
- Strong experience qualifying opportunities and mapping executive stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality in all that you do.
- Background in SaaS, technical, or licensed solutions.
- Familiarity with GIS and geospatial technologies.
It's amazing, but not required to have
- Experience in emergency management or public safety technology.
- Knowledge of hydrology, flooding, and/or weather products.
Who we look for
We're looking for someone who is mission driven, with a keen eye for detail and genuinely enjoys connecting with new customers. We're a fast-moving start-up company, and we are looking for someone who is able to juggle multiple priorities and manage deadlines. You will be determined, relentless and love to continuously problem-solve. You will be highly organized, keen to innovate and enjoy working with a global team. We believe that the unique ideas brought from all of our amazing team is one of the keys to our success. To create an inclusive and diverse culture, we welcome, encourage and celebrate applicants of any race, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or marital, veteran or disability status.
Your pay & perks
- Negotiated compensation and sales bonus based on skills, experience, and location.
- Opportunity to participate in FloodMapp's Employee Share Option Plan.
- Flexible and hybrid working options.
- Employee wellness program.
Location
- The Brisbane office is located in The Precinct in the Fortitude Valley. Applications from candidates outside of Brisbane or surrounding areas will not be considered.
- You should have full working rights to live and work in Australia.
How to apply
Please click 'Apply', sending your resume and a cover letter telling us why you want to join our mission. We respectfully request that recruitment agencies do not submit candidates.
Don't meet every single requirement? Don't count yourself out just yet. Studies have shown some individuals are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At FloodMapp, we are dedicated to building a diverse workplace based on merit, great work ethics, and character. So, if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job advertisement, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. We look forward to hearing from you
